Growth hormone is a major player in normal growth, like when your legs get longer and suddenly all your pants are too short! If your body doesn't make enough growth hormone, you might go to see a doctor who specializes in growth problems. Special tests can find out if a kid's body is making enough growth hormone. If it isn't, daily shots of growth hormone often can help the kid grow to be average-sized adult.
